A Nonprofit Guide to Trusted Resources

Assist Carolina was created during the longest government shutdown in our Nation’s history. Complaints were heard repeatedly that necessary services were difficult to find. The largest complaint was that government websites were extremely difficult to navigate and took too long when it mattered the most. Additionally, many of the rural and underserved areas websites were entirely inaccurate and antiquated.
The solution? Why not create a centralized “hub” with direct links where services could be found. In addition, a place where new service organizations could provide information for those in need. Local contacts with up-to-date email addresses and phone numbers that were readily available.
The goal was to remove the “red tape” from the process and get the resources out when they were desperately needed. Created by a high school freshman who thought one day….”what can I do to help?”
